پژوهشنامه ایران باستان یک مجله با دسترسی آزاد است که هدف آن رعایت استانداردهای بین‌المللی انتشارات است. برای انجام این کار، فرآیند بررسی همتایان به روشی دوسو ناشناس انجام می‌شود که در آن نه داور(ها) و نه نویسنده(ها) از هویت یکدیگر آگاه نیستند. به این ترتیب بررسی بدون پیش داوری انجام خواهد شد. دست‌نوشته‌های ارسالی متناسب با حوزه و قالب مجله، پس از تأیید فرجامین توسط سردبیر، بررسی و وارد مراحل چاپ می‌شوند.
این مجله از یک سیاست بازبینی دقیق پیروی می کند. هر مقاله ارسال شده ابتدا از نظر سازگاری سبک و مناسب بودن موضوع پس از بررسی سرقت ادبی ارزیابی می‌شود. در صورت تشخیص ایراد یا نبود تناسب، مقاله برای کار بیشتر و ارسال دوباره به نویسنده بازگردانده می‌شود. سپس مقاله‌هایی که معیارهای ارسال اولیه را دارند، توسط دست‌کم دو عضو هیئت تحریریه و مشاور و همچنین داوران خارجی بررسی می‌شوند. تصمیم نهایی دربارۀ وضعیت مقاله براساس بازخورد ارائه شده توسط اعضای هیئت تحریریه و داوران ناشناس به سردبیر گرفته می شود. تصمیم نهایی (که به شکل پذیرش چنانکه هست، پذیرش با تغییرات جزیی، پذیرش با تغییرات عمده، تجدید نظر و ارسال دوباره به عنوان مقاله جدید، و رد کردن) به نویسنده مربوطه از طریق وبگاه فرستاده خواهد شد. گروه مجله تلاش می کند تا روند بررسی مقاله تا اندازۀ ممکن کوتاه و معقول باشد و انتظار می‌رود نویسندگان طی 5 تا 13 هفته پس از ارسال مقاله نتیجه را دریافت کنند.
مقاله‌های پذیرفته شده برای قرار دادن در یک شماره در نوبت انتشار منتظر خواهند بود. با توجه به شمار بسیار مقاله‌های که دریافت می کنیم و صف مقالات پذیرفته شده، نویسندگان مشارکت کننده باید بدانند که ممکن است لازم باشد 3 تا 12 هفته پس از پذیرش مقاله خود منتظر بمانند تا در یک شماره منتشر شود. نویسندگانی که به دنبال فرصتی برای انتشار زودهنگام هستند، تشویق می شوند آثار خود به مجلۀ دیگری بفرستند.
Ancient Iranian Studies is a peer reviewed open access journal that aims to respect the international publication standards. To do so, the peer review process is done in a double blinded way where neither the reviewer(s) nor the author(s) are not aware of one another’s identity. In this way the review will be done without prejudice.
The journal follows a rigorous reviewing policy. Each submitted paper is first evaluated for its style consistency and appropriacy of the topic after being checked for plagiarism. If found faulty or not appropriate, the paper is returned to the author for further work and resubmission.
The papers that meet initial submission criteria are then initial assessment by Editor-in-Chief and Editorial board and then selecting reviewers. After that manuscripts send to external reviewers. All manuscripts must be reviewed by at least two external reviewers. Reviewers after reviews the manuscript, send his report to Editor-In-Chief.
A final decision is made on the status of the paper based on the feedback offered by anonymous and external reviewers to the Editor- in-Chief.
The final decision (which takes the form of Accept as it is; Accept with minor changes; Accept with major changes; Revise and Resubmit as a new paper; and Reject) will then be communicated to the corresponding author by the Editor-in-Chief. The Accepted manuscript, send to Text Editor and after layouting, publish in Ancient Iranian Studies.
The Journal team strives to keep the review process as short and reasonable as possible and the contributing authors are expected to receive a decision within 2-3 months of submission (the latest).
Accepted papers will be waiting in a queue for placement into an issue. Given the large number of submissions we receive and the queue of accepted papers, contributing authors should understand that they may need to wait for up to 6 months after acceptance of their paper before it is published in an issue. Authors who look for an early publication chance are encouraged to submit their work elsewhere.
Special issue policies
Special Issues are collections of papers centered around a subject of special interest and are organized and led by subject experts who take on the role of Guest Editor of the Special Issue.
All submissions follow the same peer review process as regular papers and are published in the regular issues of the journal when they are accepted, but are additionally labelled as belonging to a Special Issue and are discoverable within the collection.
